MAGLOK MAKES MANNEQUIN JOINTS

MAGLOK uses magnets to connect mannequin joints for quick and easy assembly. It is an excellent alternative to traditional mannequin fittings.

Magnetically coupled mannequins promise to become industry standard in the near future. Orders for many thousand have now been placed. Maglok is patented in the UK, USA, Germany and Italy, with patents pending elsewhere. The Maglok system featured on BBC TV’s Tomorrow’s World (see a clip) and was displayed at the International Display Week (IDW) in London.

A survey was conducted at the IDW of people who regularly work with mannequins. This revealed enthusiastic interest in Magloks as a useful, much-needed innovation. These are the things that people most appreciated ...

  • Magloks are self-aligning so assembly is easier and quicker even with a complicated posture or tight clothing on the mannequin

  • No danger of wrong assembly so no previous experience is needed

  • Lower repair costs because fittings cannot be ripped out of the plastic

  • Inconspicuous joints which can follow natural human curves

  • Adjustable joints so positions can be designed to suit the role of the mannequin, e.g. for lingerie the joints can be placed underneath bra straps

  • No sharp edges or protuberances which can damage clothing
